Urban Farming

This social enterprise will hire and provide wages starting at $15/hr for 62 veterans and low-income earners, and provide fresh produce to the community! Produce will be available in our neighborhood store that will also provide jobs to veterans and low-income earners.

Produce will also be used in healthy meals served in our dining room, where residents and neighbors gather together. Our dining room model is to make quality, tasty meals reasonably priced and to provide low cost and free meals to those in need that are participating in one of our programs.

Health & Athletics

Safe Place Community will have a gym and Health & Wellness Center. On-site access to services that promote health and medical care. Healthy living classes will be offered on various topics.

Our athletics and recreation program will provide classes and training in sports not traditionally accessible or introduced to underrepresented or low-income populations. We will have a "Sport Open House" where participants will have introductions to several sports and will be able to choose those that they wish to pursue. Sports will include fencing, archery, artistic swimming, canoeing, swimming, water polo, skiing, figure skating, speed skating, etc. This program will also include outreach into schools to introduce the fun and opportunities these sports bring. And most importantly to expand the horizons of underrepresented youth.
